Starting Monday July 7th, we will be holding 2 classes. One at 7 pm and on at 8 pm. Everyone is welcome to come to whichever class they would like. Please post your more desirable time to comments so we can have an idea of what to expect.

Zone Friendly BBQ

Yields 2-4 block servings

Mushroom ingredients
1 1/2 pounds fresh portebbello mushroom(stems removed)
3/4 cup shredded mozzarrella
1/2 drained and chopped red peppers
1/2 cup dark red kidney beans, drained, rinsed and chopped
7 ounces canned crabmeat
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1/2 cup chopped frozen onion
1 tablespoon chopped garlic

Salad ingredients
2 cups cherry tomatoes
1/2 cup canned chickpeas
8 tablespoons wish-bone creamy lite italian
shredded romaine lettuce


Directions for mushrooms

1. Preheat oven to 425.
2. Spray cooking dish with olive oil
3. Wipe mushrooms clean and place them upside down in baking dish.
4. In a bowl, combine remaining mushroom ingredients and stuff the mushrooms with the mixture
5. Bake 15-20 minutes of until golden brown

Directions for salad
1. Combine all salad ingredients

Ingredients:
1 cup 2% milk
2 scoops (14g) Protein Powder
2 cups frozen mixed berries
9 cashews

Instructions:
Mix all ingredients in a blender until smooth. If mixture is too thick, it can be diluted with a little water.

Turkey Sandwich

2 pieces whole wheat bread (4c)
4 ounces lean turkey breast(4P)
2 tsp of mustard
12 almonds (4f)

This yeilds the easiest perfect 4 block meal I can think of for lunchtime. However beware that the high GI carbs may create a feeling of hunger shortly after eating. If you want to reduce hunger cut out the bread and add some veggies.

These are both 1 block snacks. We are posting them for their simplicity

“Deviled Eggs with Hummus”

Ingredients
2 hardboiled eggs
2 tbsp hummus

Directions
1. Cut the hard boiled eggs in half
2. discard yokes
3. Scoop hummus into eggs and enjoy

“Lowfat cottage cheese with fruit”

Ingredients
1. 1/4 cup cottage cheese
2. options:
1/3 cup lite fruit cocktail or,
1/2 cup blueberries or,
1/2 cup pinapple or
1/2 cup appleauce
3. 3 almonds
