PR with regard to weight. Moved up from 35lbs to 44lbs. Really need to work on my running this summer. Some great times this morning from both classes. Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Any girls really love the sneakers they crossfit in? If so, what brand/style?

    @ Pumped up Kicks.

Lots of guys n gals wear the New Balance Minimus shoes. Here’s my take on them.

The Trail versions MT 10′s are good. The new version of the Trail 20′s are junk. I returned a pair and got the Road Zero’s. New Balance also makes a Minimus Cross training shoe…

I’d also recommend learning how to run w/ a mid-foot or forefoot strike, which minimal shoes sort of force you into.

Yesterday I got a pair of shoes from VivoBarefoot, so I’d recommend their stuff too.

Also another very solid CF shoes is the Inov-8 FLite 195′s these are a light minimal shoe, little heal to toe differential so they are good for lifting as they don’t force u forward – also good for trail running.

Nike Frees did me well for a while, however I would not buy them again since they have too much sole. There is a the Nike Free TR Fit 2 that I would consider.

Read up on how to run – this helped me. http://www.newbalance.com/running/good-form-running/61000,default,sc.html

If you’re looking for a super minimal shoe I’d say the New Balance Minimus Zeros are great, though they take some getting used to if you’ve never rocked a flat shoe before.

If you want a little more support my favorite all around is the NB Minimus 3090. They are still quite flexible and have a low heel height, but have a bit more bounce.

I think the Innov8 195 Lite fall somewhere in between in terms of support. They are also pretty good… though I do prefer either New Balance.

    Hope that helps.

Agree on all points – the NBs are great but taking some getting used to in terms of foot strength cause they are really flat. If you’re running on anything rockier than a track, I recommend something with a thicker sole – I’ve already got 2 punctures in my NB, 1 that went straight through right into my foot. Ouch!

Just got a pair of Vivobarefoot trail shoes which have a lot of the same features – lightweight, low heel, wide toe box – but a more rugged sole. The NBs are still better for weightlifting and say, box jumps.
